What is stored, and where
- My Hire List — the equipment, measurements and dates you add are saved in your browser.
- Room and area measurements — saved in your browser, with the unit you entered them in.
- Your contact details — if you type your name, phone, location or notes into the hire list, they are saved in your browser so you do not have to retype them.
- Your enquiry reference — generated in your browser and kept so that WhatsApp, email and print all quote the same number.
None of this is sent to Torvik automatically. There is no database behind this website and no form backend. The data stays on your device until you choose to send it.
Sending
What happens when you send
- WhatsApp — the message opens in WhatsApp on your device with the details written out. It is transmitted when you press send, from your own WhatsApp account. WhatsApp is operated by Meta and its own terms apply.
- Email — where an email option is available, transmission depends on the method configured. A mailto link opens your own email application and sends from your account.
- Print or save as PDF — produced entirely on your device. Nothing is transmitted.
Hosting
Server logs
Our hosting provider may keep standard server logs of requests to the site — typically IP address, browser type, the page requested and the time. These are ordinary web-server records rather than anything this site collects deliberately.
Control
Clearing what is saved
You can clear everything this site has saved in your browser at any time, using Clear saved data on the hire list page. That removes the hire list, the measurements, your saved contact details and the enquiry reference.
Clearing your browser data or using private browsing has the same effect.
Enquiries
What we keep once you send
Once you send an enquiry, we keep it — along with any quotation, booking and hire records that follow — for as long as needed to complete the hire, settle deposits, answer queries and meet statutory record-keeping requirements.
We do not sell contact details, share them with advertisers, or pass them to anyone not involved in fulfilling your hire. Site addresses are shared with a transporter only to the extent needed to make a delivery.
